The Scholastic Book Warehouse in Birmingham offers several sales throughout the year that offer savings on popular fiction as well as nonfiction, reference books, computer software, posters, and games. This year’s sale will be May 7-19, 2012. Click here to view the flyer. You can register for the sale online to receive a coupon as well as notices of future sales. ECS is not currently on their school list, but we will try to update that soon! You can simply check that your school is not listed.
I have personally used this sale to get educational items for incentives/prizes, to get books from our reading lists for the coming school year, and for Christmas/birthday gifts. I do warn you to try to make a list of particular books that you need or really want. If you are like me, you will be so ecstatic at the availability of books that you will fail to think logically about your purchases.
Also, don’t forget to check out our school library for availability. You might not even need to spend a penny to have that special book you want for next year’s study of apples! Use the search function to type part of the book title to see if we have it. (Only current school members have access to the school library.)
