World Education Games are back on for 2013! We at Essential love this opportunity for our children to be challenged in their academic skills while interacting in a safe environment with students from all around the world. And, the best part…it is FREE!
This year the program is offering 3 different competitions:
- March 5 – World Literacy Day (which offers games in spelling and vocabulary)
- March 6 – World Math Day (which offers games in arithmetic skills)
- March 7 – World Science Day (offers games related to scientific topics)
These online games are offered for ages 4-18, and students only compete with students in their age level. No personal information or interaction occurs. But, students can see that they are playing someone in India or Chile or Australia. A great way to encourage geography studies too! Each “game” is approximately a minute long, so they quickly move from one challenge to another.
Students are encouraged to “practice” between now and the official game days. You can see more about the program by clicking here. Apps have been created for the iPad and for Samsung devices as well.
If you would like to have your student join the games and start practicing, please let us enroll them through the school! This prevents you from having to share your personal email, and it allows our school to earn points together toward awards. Use the form below to let us know that you want us to set you up! Leave an additional note if you want to add yourself as a teacher and monitor your student’s activity directly.
This registration is currently closed. Watch next year for your next opportunity to be involved!
This will be our 4th year participating in these online activities! My girls get so excited and eager to get their time in on those dedicated days!
