Summer Youth Music Ensembles:
Vocal, Chamber, Contemporary, Jazz
for beginning and intermediate level musicians ages 10 to 18
Saturday Afternoons, June 5 through July 31
at Highlands UMC, 1045 20th St S (at the fountain at 5 Pts South)
Participate in one, two or all four!
In addition to a concert at the end of the summer, ensembles will have the opportunity to perform at community events, including the Jazz in the Park series.
Cost: Only $10 for registration and materials.

Auditions for placement in vocal, chamber, and contemporary ensembles
will be held May 14 (3:30 to 5:30) & 15 (12 to 4) at Highlands UMC.

Vocal, Chamber and Contemporary Ensembles will be directed by Will Plummer, visiting conductor from Louisville. Mr. Plummer has a masters in choral conducting and a BA in piano performance and teaches music history at Bellarmine and the Univ. of Louisville. He has conducted vocal and instrumental ensembles at the high school and college level.
The Jazz Ensemble will be directed by Dwight Houston, Music Director of MYOCA, world-renowned jazz and studio musician, composer & arranger. A consummate wind teacher, Dwight’s students have won many awards and scholarships.
Schedule of Rehearsals:
11am – Beginning Chamber
12pm – Intermediate Chamber
1pm – Jazz
2pm – Contemporary
3pm – Vocal
Because of the limited number of rehearsals, only 2 excused absences will be permitted.
Audition requirements: 2 to 3 min excerpt from piece chosen by student, 2 major scales of student’s choice, sight reading.
