“Constituting America is holding an arts contest we are proud to pass along to you.
The contest, ‘We the People 9*17,’ offers children in grades K-12 the opportunity to submit a cool song, entertaining short film, Public Service Announcement, holiday card, poem, or essay that presents the theme, ‘How the United States Constitution is relevant today.’ Entries are due, fittingly enough, by July 4, 2010.
Prizes include $2000 scholarships for winners in the high school division, gift cards for winners in middle school and elementary student categories, and recognition for all winners on Constituting America’s website.
The mission of Constituting America is to educate America’s youth and citizens about the Constitution and its value, validity, and relevance today. They are passionate about changing the culture of our country and hope to get kids excited to learn about the U.S. Constitution through new and innovative means.
We share Constituting America’s passion for the relevance and value of the Constitution, or we wouldn’t bother going to the trouble to amend it. This contest is a great way to involve students in learning the content, meaning and power of this vital document. Another great way is to involve them in efforts to pass the Parental Rights Amendment. So, students, get involved today!”
