As I looked through a curriculum magazine, I noticed that they were selling a Thankfulness Journal. It looked interesting, and instantly I knew what I wanted to purpose for this school year – a school year of thankfulness.
I invite you to join me this school year in having your students start each school day by writing a word or drawing a picture of something they are thankful to have, know, or experience.
We are going to simply pull out some spiral bound notebooks I have on a shelf, because I have to keep it simple. This helps me to not put it off until a special journal arrives, or until I have had the time to be crafty. I’ll let my students decorate the notebooks as we go through the year if they’d like, but the most important thing is to start each day with thankful hearts.
Will you join us? If so, I hope to have a little celebration in May where we share our journals and our favorite entries. This is something for all ages!

We’re in! We probably won’t do this every day, but we’ll incorporate it into our Bible Study time. 🙂 Thank you for the idea.
What a blessing this will be. Thank you for sharing the idea and for being an encouragement to us. We appreciate you and are thankful to be part of ECS!
