Ice Skating Day 2015

Pelham Civic Center 500 Amphitheater Road, Pelham, AL, United States

We will join Birmingham Homeschoolers Community for a day of winter fun!  No need to RSVP or register.   You can pay a BHC representative at the door (or pre-pay online on BHC website) for a special group rate of $8.50 which includes the skate rental.  Remember that if you arrive after 11:15am, you will have to pay the individual rate to the skating rink directly.  (Some families have secured significant discounted individual tickets through LivingSocial) We hope to see you there and join us afterwards for lunch at the 119 Chick-Fil-A at 1pm.  

Valentine’s Day Party 2015

We will join BHC for probably the largest valentine swap in the country!  Be creative and compete in the annual valentine mailbox contest, or bring a simple collection box or bag.  Don't forget at least 50 valentines to share, as well as a treat for the snack table. Alabama Homeschool Prom 2015

Gabrella Manor 8912 4th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL, United States

Held every year at the beautiful Gabrella Manor! First Thursday in May, this year that is May 7th. 7-11 pm $30 per person. Pay at the door. We have a professional photographer, $25 for basic picture package. Semi formal. Note: most girls do wear a prom dress, boys need a suit, or sport coat, a few will wear a tux. This dance is open to any homeschool student in Alabama and a date. The date does not have to be homeschooled. Snacks and sodas provided... Music provided by DJ (no vulgar music) Off duty policemen to help patrol the grounds. We have plenty of chaperones. If parents feel they simply must stay, they must dress up for the dance and pay to get in. Spread the word to any and all homeschoolers you know. BHC Back to School Party 2015

Essential Church School supports and sponsors the activities and events of Birmingham Homeschoolers Community.  BHC is a place where homeschool families from around the city can connect for field trips, parties, classes, fun, and relationships. Please join us for this special day of celebrating the beginning of another school year!  It is like a family reunion with "potluck" snack and drinks.  Bring a lawn chair and picnic blanket.  Dress for playtime in the creek and/or field day activities in the large field.  Students of all ages will be there, and teens are welcome to come and meet new friends. We will meet at 1:30 in the field to take a group school photo.  Look for an Essential poster.  See you there!
