Ice Skating Day 2015

We will join Birmingham Homeschoolers Community for a day of winter fun!  No need to RSVP or register.   You can pay a BHC representative at the door (or pre-pay online on BHC website) for a special group rate of $8.50 which includes the skate rental.  Remember that if you arrive after 11:15am, you will have to pay the individual rate to the skating rink directly.  (Some families have secured significant discounted individual tickets through LivingSocial) We hope to see you there and join us afterwards for lunch at the 119 Chick-Fil-A at 1pm.  

Valentine’s Day Party 2015

We will join BHC for probably the largest valentine swap in the country!  Be creative and compete in the annual valentine mailbox contest, or bring a simple collection box or bag.  Don't forget at least 50 valentines to share, as well as a treat for the snack table. Essential Church School is excited about being an exhibitor at this local informational event for homeschool families, and for potential homeschool families. We encourage you to come and explore all that Birmingham has to offer you.  Share this event with your favorite homeschool resources---coops, tutorials, classes, teachers, gyms, field trips, etc. If you are able and would like to help at our table, please let us know.  The community would probably prefer talking to someone who actually uses our services and hearing about your experiences. Alabama Homeschool Prom 2015

Gabrella Manor 8912 4th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL, United States

Held every year at the beautiful Gabrella Manor! First Thursday in May, this year that is May 7th. 7-11 pm $30 per person. Pay at the door. We have a professional photographer, $25 for basic picture package. Semi formal. Note: most girls do wear a prom dress, boys need a suit, or sport coat, a few will wear a tux. This dance is open to any homeschool student in Alabama and a date. The date does not have to be homeschooled. Snacks and sodas provided... Music provided by DJ (no vulgar music) Off duty policemen to help patrol the grounds. We have plenty of chaperones. If parents feel they simply must stay, they must dress up for the dance and pay to get in. Spread the word to any and all homeschoolers you know. High School Graduation Ceremony

All attendance records for the 2014-2015 school year must be submitted and completed by this date.  This is Essential's only requirement for enrollment and is a requirement of the state law. Attendance records can be: Completed Online (click here to complete now) Uploaded on Member Page Scanned  and sent via email *Those who are delinquent in submitting attendance records will be automatically withdrawn and reported to the local school superintendent for the security of our school.* (This only applies to those enrolled during the 2014-2015 school year)
