“Experiencing Shakespeare” makes Shakespeare come alive for students. Through television, the web, and social media, students explore the Folger Shakespeare Library, a leader in teaching Shakespeare and home to the world’s largest Shakespeare collection. “Experiencing Shakespeare” reveals the genius of Shakespeare, inspires students to read Shakespeare’s works, and empowers them to understand his language. They’ll travel backstage with professional actors rehearsing for a Shakespeare performance, see original documents relating to Shakespeare’s life and times, and enjoy special behind-the-scenes access to the Folger. Students will have the opportunity to submit questions about Shakespeare to be answered live during the broadcast by Folger experts. “Experiencing Shakespeare” targets students in grades 6-12.
In addition, students can share videos of their own Shakespearean performance for a chance to appear in “Experiencing Shakespeare” After registering, you’ll receive information on how your students can submit their videos.
