Are you ready to homeschool your high school student? Join us for an afternoon of information and encouragement for families planning, beginning, or in the midst of homeschooling a high school student. We will discuss: High School Prep Walking through High School Testing and Post-Graduation Prep The Heart of the Matter We will also have a Q&A session at the end. All our presenters have completed the high school homeschooling journey and have seen their students succeed in the transition out of homeschooling. BHC History Fair

BHC Thanksgiving Feast 2022

*It’s the world’s largest Homeschool Picnic!* Homewood Central Park has a very large field to set up picnic blankets, camp chairs, and even portable tables.  If you are comfortable with sharing food and eating as a potluck, you can bring your own table to set up at your picnic spot.  This is a great way to connect with other families, but we know that health concerns are still prevalent. BHC will have Thanksgiving crafts and activities available, and teens are encouraged to come as well! This event will be held rain or shine.  BHC won’t be able to reschedule this event, but everyone is encouraged to be wise and safe if there is inclement weather.

BHC Science Fair

Share your knowledge and experiments! We are excited to offer the BHC Science Fair for the 2022-2023 school year for all ages and grade levels as well. We do require you to register your student’s project by January 1st if possible. The $5 registration fee will help BHC cover the expenses of the venue, judges, and prizes – yes, this event includes some friendly competition! BHC Easter Park Day 2023

Join us for a traditional Easter egg hunt as well as spring fun! Bring plastic eggs (with or without goodies inside) and baskets for the egg hunt, and bring a prepackaged spring treat/drink to share (or bring your own snack for your children). Teens and older students can help with egg hiding if they prefer. Dads often join us on this day too! Bring kites and sport equipment for free time. Hopefully, we will have beautiful weather, but we will meet rain or shine and hide eggs under the pavilion if needed! For those who haven’t joined us in the past, we do hide tickets in eggs to redeem for prizes after the egg hunt.  And here is our normal schedule: 1-1:30 pm – Families arrive and drop off eggs at designated area. 1:30-2 pm –  Teens/Dads hide eggs at a designated location while children play or eat. We gather in grade level groupings for the egg hunt at 2pm. After the egg hunt, students look through their collected eggs for tickets and goodies.  Empty eggs can be donated to BHC for use in the next year’s hunt, or you can take your collections home.  The tickets are marked, and students will return to their age/grade level egg hunt area with their tickets to claim their prizes.

BHC Back to School Homeschool Field Day

Join us for a wonderful afternoon of fun, fellowship, and food.  The greater homeschool community is coming together to play games, share resources, and enjoy connecting together. Essential is sponsoring a parents vs. students kickball game, and other organizations will be present with other activities. There will be activities for all ages.
