School Picture Days

Click here to go to a special page for securing your FREE photo session as a teacher or student. These sessions are only for school ids and yearbook photos. Special arrangements can be made with our photographer for family/sibling photo sessions on a different day, but PLEASE remember that any other day does NOT include the school id or yearbook option.  So, you will need to secure your sessions for your student/teacher ids too.

High School Graduation Ceremony

Our gradautes and their families will share an evening of celebrating and recognizing their achievements.  Families of high school seniors should go their Member Page for details about this night.  The deadline for confirmation of participation is April 15th.

2014-2015 Attendance Due

All attendance records for the 2014-2015 school year must be submitted and completed by this date.  This is Essential's only requirement for enrollment and is a requirement of the state law. Attendance records can be: Completed Online (click here to complete now) Uploaded on Member Page Scanned  and sent via email *Those who are delinquent in submitting attendance records will be automatically withdrawn and reported to the local school superintendent for the security of our school.* (This only applies to those enrolled during the 2014-2015 school year)

Deadline for 2015-2016 Re-Enrollment

Re-Enrollment is due on July 1, 2016, but we extend the re-enrollment period deadline to August 1st. The Re-Enrollment Form will be posted on your Member Page by May 1st.  You must have completed and reported your 2014-2015 school days before you can re-enroll. The form will lead you through enrolling new students for the school year, changing your address, or withdrawing certain students.  If you have any questions or concerns after completing the form, please contact us.

Essential Library Open House

Stop by our Open House to browse and see all the materials we have for you and your students. Our library is currently housed in an indoor storage space off Hwy. 280 in Chelsea.  Please park behind Building B and enter through the back door. Our librarian will be available to help you find specific materials regarding your particular subject matter. We are more than a literature library, there is curriculum, games, printables.  You have to see it to believe it! (Children are not encouraged to attend.  The space is small and the area is not kid-friendly.)

Homeschool High School Workshop

Join us for an informational afternoon covering high school preparation, classes, testing, and college prep! Our school administrator will be available to walk you through any questions about our school reporting and diploma requirements. No admission fees required, but donations are appreciated to cover the printing costs of materials and the time of presenters.

THIS EVENT WAS CANCELLED BY TEST PREP SEMINARS. If you registered and did not receive your refund, please contact Test Prep Seminars at http://testprepseminars.org. We are very disappointed that this event was cancelled by the organization.  As a school, we strive to communicate effectively regarding possible cancellations, and we wish we could have given our guests more notice of this change.

2016 Testing – Grades 3-8

Please insure your student's participation is secured by February 25th. Essential will be offering onsite administration of the Iowa Assessments™ Form E for grades 3-8 only.  Students will need to be at the testing site by 8:45am, and parents/guardians should pick up by noon each day. The $50 administration fee covers the costs of securing all the test forms and results, as well as the administration of the test. All students who are tested must be home educated and currently enrolled in a church school (cover school) in the state of Alabama. Why are you not offering the Stanford 10 or the Aspire? The Stanford 10 is no longer current and will be phasing out next year.  The Aspire test is not available to our school at this time.  We are offering the Iowa Assessments™ and following the test choice of a majority of private Christian schools in Alabama. What is Iowa Assessments™? Iowa Assessments offers timed standard achievement tests with national norms.  Click here for a document which shows the areas tested. REGISTER HERE:
