Each year we have made a list of the books we have read together and the books that my students have read independently. It is amazing to look back over the list at the end of the year and see all that we have accomplished. My husband constantly jokes about how the girls have read more in one school year than he has read in his whole life! This makes them feel so good. We also use the books read to aim for reading goals throughout the year that result in a pizza or another special prize or reward. Lisa’s Country Clipart features some fun reading logs that you can use to help make reading fun and to help keep those reading records. There is also other clipart available that you might could use for notebooking, crafts, or lapbooking.
Remember that if your student can read, he or she can learn whatever is needed or wanted! Encourage reading every day!
